The term 'the long game' refers to your drives (shots off the tee) and fairway shots; that is every shot except the shots you make to actually get onto the green.

The term ‘the long game’ refers to your drives (shots off the tee) and fairway shots; that is every shot except the shots you make to actually get onto the green.

For the reason that each hole has a different difficulty level, a different par and different obstructions, saying that you should use your driver on every tee every time would be totally wrong.

This is something that you will learn over time as you learn the various shots you need to make according to the club, the placement of the ball and your personal swing.

Generally speaking, the lower the club number, the longer and lower your ball will fly over the ground. A 4-iron shot will travel a long and low trajectory and will most likely roll on the ground, whereas a 9-iron shot will have much more loft and go less distance both in the air and on the ground.

The professionals on television make it look so easy, don’t they? They consistently hit the ball long and straight and never miss-hit the ball making it dribble ten feet or completely miss the ball altogether, but you do not have to do that either, if you practice, practice, practice.

Driving is so very important to the game, and many hours spent at the driving range will help improve your distance. You should experiment with the same club to see what works for you if you move the ball forward or backward in your stance. Take a lesson, if possible, and learn the proper swing from the beginning.

You need to get to grips with ‘the long game’ as it will ensure that you get to the green in fewer strokes, which will keep your score level and frustration level down. Bear in mind that it takes a long time to learn to be consistent and also always remember: you’re supposed to be having a good time! So go and enjoy yourself.

Are you the sort of person who is forever redecorating your room or even your whole house? Do you find yourself happier when you’re doing this than when you’re doing any other kind of job? Then maybe you ought to look into a career change such as trying for interior design jobs.

If you’re stuck in a rut of a job and want to go for something completely different, then this might be exactly what you’re looking for. Working in interior design jobs is an enjoyable and fruitful way for you to spend your working life and if you play your cards right, then there will be quite a lot of benefit to you.

Before you run off and quit your present job however, I’d recommend that you to think about it very carefully. Remember that, although the market for interior design jobs is definitely there, most interior design jobs are for the self-employed and you will have to bid for each job, so if you do decide to get on the bandwagon, you might not actually get any jobs in the beginning.

Therefore, you should first make absolutely sure that interior designing is really for you. And if it is, then make sure that you have saved enough capital for you to be able to live comfortably until your new career takes off.

If this doesn’t sound quite so interesting to you now, you could always just keep doing your old job and continue with any interior design jobs that you win at the same time until you feel comfortable enough to choose between the two. It’s probably safe to assume that by that point, you would have made up your mind whether you wanted to continue doing interior design jobs or not.

Furthermore, you also have the choice of attending an interior design college or taking some interior design courses, on or off line, to increase your interior design knowledge. This is a really good way for you to put your toes in the water before you take too much risk. An additional bonus with either of these options is that they can be completed easily and shouldn’t present you with any real hardship.

Taking any of these courses will only enhance your innate ability and develop any talent you have in the area of interior designing. This in turn makes it easier for you to tender for more interior design jobs by giving you a boost in confidence and knowledge, so that you’re more placed to face whatever comes your way.

The hardest part will be taking that all important first step of leaving your nice safe cocoon to go into the unknown world of interior design jobs. However, for the person who’s got the interior design bug, there’s no better way to satisfy their interest than by going in for interior design jobs. You’ll find your energy levels and creativity blooming as never before.

So what exactly is southwestern home decor and how can you get it into your own home? Well, to start with southwestern home decor reflects the southwest and all its most famous aspects. Southwestern home decor involves colourful throw rugs, gorgeous wall hangings, and if you search hard enough, you can even unearth some great kitchen accessories too.

If you’re considering bringing southwestern home decor into your residence, first of all, you need to check whether it will fit in with your existing decor or whether it will clash horribly. Almost all southwestern home decor involves bright, eye-catching colours and stunning designs and motifs.

So, if your existing furniture would clash with any of these lovely pieces, you can do one of two things. Firstly, you could always just throw out every single piece of unwanted furniture that you have and replace them with gorgeous pieces of southwestern home decor. Or you could just buy one or two pieces of the southwestern home decor range and match them carefully with your existing pieces.

Personally speaking, I would rather replace everything I have since there’s some wear, but in reality that’s just not possible. For one thing it would just be too expensive, and for another I would rather not have to listen to a lecture from my mother about extravagance. I’ve discovered that you can get away from from your friends but not from your mother!

Besides, I’m also a little relieved that I didn’t give into my initial impulse and redecorate everything in a southwestern home decor style. Sure, it does look really nice, but sometimes I also like the peace and quiet that some of my other pieces of furniture bring about in me. Therefore, I have now come up with the perfect solution and have instead resorted to purchasing one-off pieces that attract my attention and dotting my home with those instead.

And I have to admit that its made quite a difference in the appearance of my whole home. Lush and rich pieces of the more traditional furniture now sit quite comfortably with the more flamboyant and stunning designs of my southwestern home decor. I’ve also got hold of a great rug for my bathroom floor and a beautiful set of hand towels. My kitchen has a new set of southwestern motifs, and my foyer has the most wonderful lampshade and statuette in full view.

Though all of this might sound over the top, I’ve found that this is the best way to bring the glories of southwestern home decor into my life, without going all out and replacing my entire house with southwestern decor and motifs.

After all, you just want to bring a dash of southwestern decor to your home, not the whole sheebang. Oh, and did I forget to mention the beautiful tapestry I bought the other day? It’s just perfect.

I trust that this, my first dissertation on the fundamentals of tennis, will be found useful by both novices and experts alike in the tennis world. I am trying to arouse interest in the student of the game of tennis by a somewhat lengthy discussion of match play, which I hope will cast a new light on the sport of tennis.

I will address the beginner in my opening article and speak of certain matters which are second nature to the experienced tennis player. The best tennis equipment is not much use for the novice even if he really wants to improve. Nevertheless, one has to purchase good quality; it is a saving eventually, as high quality material far outlasts poor quality gear.

It is important to always dress in tennis attire when playing tennis. The question of choosing a tennis racquet is a much more serious matter. I do not advise forcing a certain make of racquet upon any player, since all the standard makes are excellent. However, it is on the weight, balance, and size of handle that the real value of a racquet frame depends, while good stringing is essential to get optimum results.

After having acquired your racquet, make a firm decision to use only good tennis balls, as a regular bounce is a great aid to advancement, while a “dead” ball is of no use at all. If you really want to advance at tennis and progress rapidly, I strongly advise you to see all the good tennis you can. Study the play of the top players and strive to emulate their play. Read all the tennis instruction manuals you can get your hands on. They are a great assistance.

It is surprising to many people that more tennis can be picked up off the tennis court in the study of theory and in watching the top players in play, than can ever be learned in one’s own actual play. I do not advise that you should miss opportunities to play tennis, far from it. Play tennis whenever possible, but strive when playing to put into practice the theories you have read about or the strokes you have seen.

Never let yourself become discouraged by slow progress. The trick of playing some stroke you have worked on over weeks unsuccessfully, will suddenly come to you when you least expect it. Good tennis players are the product of very hard work. Very few players are born geniuses at the game. Tennis is a game that pays you dividends all your life. A tennis racquet is a letter of introduction in any town.

The fellowship of tennis is universal, since none but a good sportsman can succeed in the game for any lengthy period of time. Tennis provides relaxation, excitement, exercise, and pure enjoyment to the player who is tied hard and fast to his job until late in the afternoon.

The order of development that produces the quickest and most lasting results is: a. Concentration on the game. b. Keep the eye on the ball. c. Foot-work and weight-control. d. Strokes. e. Court position. f. Court generalship or match play. g. Tennis psychology.

Concentration. Tennis is played first with the mind. The best racquet technique in the world will not suffice if the playing mind is erring. There are many causes of a distracted mind in a tennis match. The chief one is lack of interest in the game. No one should play tennis with any expectation of real success unless he cares enough about the game to be willing to do the practice necessary to learn the game correctly.

Give it up at once unless you are willing to work hard. Conditions of play or the noises in the gallery often confuse and bewilder experienced match-players playing in new surroundings. Complete concentration on the matter in hand is the only remedy for an erring mind, and the quicker the lesson is learned the quicker the improvement of the player.

The surest way to keep a match in focus is to go for every set, every game in the set, every point in the game and, eventually, every shot in the point. A set is just a collection of made and missed shots, and the man who misses the least is the ultimate winner.

If you are a beginner tennis player or are interested in tennis psychology, just go to our site called Tennis Tips for Beginners This and other unique content ” articles are available with free reprint rights.

Seaside holidays are extremely popular which is why every year, millions of tourists head for seaside beaches. Perhaps you like coastal holidays too. seaside holidays are fabulous, but that can be the problem too, because it frequently means overcrowding, queuing, rubbish and noise. Have you ever thought about renting your own private coastal cottage? Many only dream about it, but it is not that difficult or costly to arrange actually.

One item to bear in mind is that, public beaches are well-known and that is why they become too busy. However, private coastal cottages are often secluded or on private beaches, which makes for a much quieter holiday. Often, local people living only miles from the cottage do not know that they exist. Despite this, most coastal cottages do not cost a lot of money to rent.

These coastal cottages are to be had in many countries around the world. They are certainly very popular in Britain, Europe and the United States. The degree of privacy and the amenities available will depend on where you go. A coastal cottage in Wales will give you a far different holiday than a coastal cottage in southern France or Coney Island.

Many coastal cottages are located near a popular vacation destination. Not right in the middle of the location, but generally a few miles or less outside, so that you can easily drive in or even walk in, if you want some livelier entertainment. Typical coastal cottage entertainment activities include swimming, sailing, fishing and walking.

Of course, one of the chief considerations when renting a cottage is the rent itself. Now the funny thing is that is not nearly such a big consideration as you might think it would be. The macro location is more important than the micro location. So, Wales might be cheaper than the south of France, but within Wales itself, there is not a huge variation in price, when you equate like with like. Clearly, a five-bedroomed coastal cottage will be more expensive than a three-bedroomed one.

Another point worth looking into is the ownership of the coastal cottage. Is it owned by a private individual who lives near-by or is it owned by a large business. Is the cottage a real, authentic cottage or is it a new, mock cottage building? If it is old, is it connected with anyone famous or a famous event? Knowing these facts can all heighten your pleasure.

Make sure that you are given some maps or drawings so that you can find the spot easily. Especially if you are travelling to the cottage in the evening or in the dark. Things often look far different at night than in the daylight, and if your chosen cottage is in a secluded spot, there may not be any street lighting

Finally, get hold of some pictures of inside and outside the coastal cottage you finally decide on and then reserve it early, because the best coastal cottages go earlier and earlier every year as this form of vacationing becomes ever more popular.

The three most essential elements of any barbecue party are the guests, the weather and the food. I can not make recommendations about your friends and family, you are on your own there, but I hope you will find my suggestions for the other two fronts practical.

An unplanned party in the garden is great and often the best parties are the ones that just happen off the cuff, but if you want something a little more formal or more notable then you have to organize. The first step is to pick a date far enough in the future for most people to be unlikely to have a prior engagement, but not so far that they might forget about your barbecue party.

Depending on where you live of course, try to pick a date when it is not likely to be cool or wet. This is hard in places like the UK, but may be easier where you live. If the party goes on into the night it may get chilly anyway and you could hire a few gas patio heaters in advance just in case. You could also have a sunshade or sheltered seating area in case of blazing sunshine or a light shower.

These days many people are vegetarian and you will have to plan in advance for them and other dieters, if they make up a sizable number of your guests. You could send out RSVP invitations and ask your guests to make known any special dietary requirements. I am not really suggesting that you have to cater to everybody, but if you have a lot of Jews or Arabs coming you will need to provide an alternative to pork chops and of course there are other minorities too.

In fact, you may have to do some investigation into the religions of the people coming to your barbecue party, because often cooking utensils may not have touched pork of meat or shellfish. Most people of the guests with these dietary needs will have been in this situation before and will appreciate if you go some way to providing an alternative.

For this reason, you will need to get your RSVP cards back at least a week before your barbecue party and do a bit of research on the telephone or the Internet. Then start making up the barbecue side dishes. These should include baked or and boiled jacket potatoes and potato salad, baked beans, egg quarters and coleslaw along with pickles, relish, onions, chutneys tomato and curry sauces (hot and not so hot), as most people will eat them. These can be prepared a few days in advance and kept in Tupperware containers in the fridge. Bread in the form of buns is also essential so that people can make sandwiches.

It is imperative for a polished act, to have your party area fully prepared before your guests turn up. it is a good idea to set the music system up in the garden shed or the garage to save it from any sudden shower. Provide plenty of tissues for wiping greasy fingers and plenty of receptacles for the debris. Finger bowls with lemon water would be a good idea for this purpose too.

Deep sea fishing is a healthy activity that a lot of families enjoy. Deep sea fishing is a sport that can give you and your family unforgettable experiences and unforgettable memories that can last for a lifetime. The amount of family bonding in a natural environment is simply indescribable.

If you’re new to this wonderful pastime, there are a few things that you need to know before you commence with your deep sea fishing trip. It is indeed just one big adventure for you and your family, however, you should consider some things first to make sure your trip is a successful one. Other than not forgetting to take your camera for those thrilling snapshots, here are some things that you have to think about before making any plans at all.

Reckoning Time: Are They Capable? First of all, you need to take a realistic look at your family’s abilities and age. Lets be honest about it, you cant really get the most out of a deep sea fishing trip if your kids are too young. If you’re trying to decide what kind of excursion to make, deliberating on these factors is important too.

This would be an important factor, even if you are thinking of using the services of a charter boat, since most boating companies have set age limits. Generally speaking, the lower age limit usually starts at about eight years old. You should realize that companies set these kinds of rules to guarantee your safety.

Furthermore, you should consider how long you want to stay on the water. Most inexperienced fishermen would rather half-day trips, because they are less tiring and yet still great fun for the whole family. On the other hand, experienced anglers would definitely rather an overnight trip.

However, regardless how long you have been fishing, you should remember that your family’s physical comfort could affect the overall enjoyment of everyone else on the trip. Factors such as disposition and age are important factors in how your family is able to adjust to a sojourn on a boat at sea, where it could get quite rough.

Be Conscious of Distance: another important factor is how far away your preferred fishing location is from your house. The fishing packages available can vary greatly, depending on the charter company.

This means that the conditions and provisions that they will offer you on the boat will also differ. If you are travelling a great distance just to fish, you might be more interested in purchasing a package that is ‘all inclusive’, because it will provide you with everything you’ll need for the fishing trip.

All inclusive packages like these are usually quite hard to find, and of course, they are far more expensive than normal day trip charter packages. An average charter package usually provides the bait and tackle and if you need a license, some packages include it, while some may charge extra for it.

Get to Know The Terms and Conditions: In general, charter boat owners require you to bring your own hats, sunshades, coats, sun block, medicines for travel sickness and anything else that you consider is necessary to take. Ensure that you are clothed appropriately with a series of warm layers, since it is far colder on the water than on land and you can always take something off.

Also, most of the day charter trip packages require you to take your own food. If this is the case, you should plan accordingly. Try to take items of food that are easy on your stomach, just in case the sea gets a bit rough, which can happen very quickly at sea.

I was searching through a history book and it was talking about memorable events of ten years ago, but I had forgotten most of them. I have picked out some of the events of exactly ten years ago this month – January, in a word. So here are a few things that you may or probably will not remember from January 2000.

1 – on his first day as acting president, Vladimir Putin left to visit Russian troops in Chechnya.

4 – President Clinton recommends Alan Greenspan to a fourth four year term as Chairman of the Federal Reserve.

5 – President Clinton rules that Elian Gonzalez, a six year old Cuban boy who survived the capsizing of a refugee boat, should be returned to his father in Cuba.

6 – much of Miami is shut down by hundreds of Cuban-Americans in protest against the Gonzalez decision. – the S.E.C reports that most partners of Price, Waterhouse, Coopers, the world’s largest accounting company, contravened regulations requiring that they may not hold stock in companies that they audit. Five partners were fired.

7 – Vice Pres. Al Gore back-tracks on his assurance to ensure that all new appointees to the Joint Chiefs of Staff were sympathetic to permitting gays to serve openly in the military.

8 – AOL announces a merger with Time Warner for $165 billion: the world’s biggest ever.

11 – the British government rules that General Pinochet is medically unfit to stand trial for suspected crimes against humanity in Chile during his presidency.

13 – executives at the nation’s leading drugs companies say they want to work with Clinton to establish Medicare coverage for prescription drugs this year.

15 – Arkan, the notorious Serbian paramilitary leader was shot dead in a hotel lobby in Belgrade.

18 – Helmut Kohl resigns as honorary Christian Democratic Party chairman over suggestions of corruption from within the party.

24 – the Supreme Court rules that laws limiting political donations to $1,000 in Missouri are constitutional.

25 – the Congressional Budget Office reports that the flood of tax revenues resulting from the exceptionally strong economy will last for ten years.

26 – ‘The New York Times’ reports that U.S investigators have unveiled links between a group of Algerians charged with plotting a terrorist attack in the U.S. and Osama Bin Laden, the exiled Saudi accused of bombing two American embassies.

31 – Republican Gov. George Ryan of Illinois puts a stop to all executions in the state citing a disgraceful record of convicting innocent people and putting them on death row. – top officials n the C.I.A. are accused of impeding an internal investigation into indications that the agency’s past director, John M. Deutsch, mishandled secret information.

With a world population in excess of six billion people, we are all becoming progressively more aware that food is a scarce resource. Traditionally, people have not regarded food as a resource, but more of a birthright. However, the populations of many Third World countries are required to be more pragmatic.

We in the West are continuously bombarded by implorations for donations by charities and I think that many people are getting a bit weary of it. I also think that people are mistrustful of the charity workers’ expenses and fees, especially after the MPs’ expenses scandal in the UK. So, what can you do, if you want to make some sort of contribution?

I think that the best thing one can do is not to squander food. Not squandering or wasting food will decrease the amount you have to purchase, which will leave more on the supermarket shelves. This will increase supply, which will reduce prices. Therefore, by not buying so much food, you will be saving money and reducing the cost of what you do buy. Can not be bad, can it?

So, here are a few of my favourite money-saving tips.

Funnel – I have bought a few funnels in my time, but they always seemed to have fallen to the back of the cupboard when I needed one. I do not buy them anymore. Instead, I cut the top 9″ off the top of a plastic cola bottle. When I am done with it, I throw it away, particularly if I used it for pouring oil.

Microwave – sometimes, when you open the microwave oven door, a whiff of the last meal comes out. Instead of spending money on sprays or what-not, put a slice of lemon in a saucer of water and microwave it for three minutes after every time you use it.

Cabbage – boiling cabbage really smells! However, there are three ways of hiding the smell without using air freshener. The first way is to put a slice of lemon in the cabbage water as it cooks. The second way is to boil a small pan of vinegar next to the cooking cabbage and the third is to place a sieve over the cooking cabbage and put a round of stale bread in it. These techniques work because the lemon cancels the smell of the cabbage as does the vinegar and the stale bread absorbs the smell.

Fish Fingers – it is not nice to have smelly fingers after preparing fish, onions or garlic. As an alternative to washing and washing your hands, rub a little lemon juice on them and rinse for immediate relief.

Sponge – a tablespoon of hot water whisked into a sponge mixture at the last minute will really enhance the rise and the texture of the cake.
